NanoScale Systems GmbH was founded in March 2005 as a spin-off of Frankfurt University. The company develops innovative technologies for software-controlled direct adaptation and processing of micro- and nanoscale surfaces. As well as scalable and highly custom-designed adaptable solutions with MEMS- and NEMS-Basis based components.
Employing special process technologies and established methods of microstructuring we strongly emphasize the introduction of completely new product generations and top-quality applications of microstructuring with drastically minimalized system sizes.
Our core business comprises besides development also production and marketing of high-precision miniaturized applications for selected markets from the fields of nano analytics, pharmaceutical and diagnostic medicine, microbiology and Life Sciences, e.g. scanning probe microscopy, gas-phase biosensors, pressure- vibration- as well as acceleration sensors.
Slightly modifying our micro- and nanomechanic system components enables us to directly adapt to our business fields a wide spectrum of technologically related applications, for example molecular weight systems in the detection and quantification of gases and biomolecules or in the provision of micromanipulators for DNA analyses. Moreover our MEMS and NEMS components can be used in various fields of micromechanical high precision sensors, as for example probe systems for food, chemical and automobile industry.
NanoScale Systems pays considerable attention on the development of new future markets of biotechnological and pharmacological analytics, as genomics and proteomics. Novel chip architecture for biochemical detection processes at the single molecular level will become particularly important over the course of the next few years. The field of application of our innovative technology spans from design of “Lab-on-a-Chip” applications to the provision of massively parallel screening processes for the quick development of pharmaceuticals.
